Dr. Jaya Ramakumaran has over 25 years of experience spanning General Practice, Ophthalmology, and Emergency Medicine. She completed her MBBS at Medical College Trivandrum, University of Kerala, and further specialized with a Diploma in Ophthalmology from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka, University of Mangalore, India.
Her career began in 1984 with a rigorous compulsory rotating internship at Medical College Hospital, Trivandrum, followed by a role teaching pathology at Medical College Trichur. She then served as an Assistant Insurance Medical Officer across various ESI hospitals in Kerala, catering to the needs of industrial laborers.
Dr. Ramakumaran relocated to the UAE in 2000, where she worked as an optometrist at a medical clinic in Dubai. In 2001, she transitioned to an Emergency Physician role, managing a wide range of emergency situations and providing comprehensive care in a high-pressure environment.
She holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and has passed FRCS (Ophthalmology) Part 1 and Part 2. She is a Life Member of the Indian Medical Association and a member of both the Kerala Government Insurance Medical Officers Association and the Emirates Medical Association.
